The OddZone Palace

For starters, "Palace" is a term used to name a software serving as a visual chatroom client which allows people to use props or "avatars" to express themselves in a chat-like setting to help give a more interactive atmosphere. The users may also upload pictures in place of avatars, listen to music, play games using a palace relating script language known as iptscrae and rbscript, as well as much more!

Palace ChatSo what types of palace software are available? Well essentially there are three primary types, however at OddZone, our state-of-the-art scripting languages only support two of those three. The first one, as the picture here states, is called PalaceChat and this is the primary client that functions on Macintosh computers however it also works well with Windows computers too. Naturally I will provide more information about the specifics of this software in the future, however for now, if you would like to read more or perhaps even download the software for PalaceChat, visit the following webpage: http://ee.fastpalaces.com/

Phalanx: The Odd Recommended Palace Software

And we have controversy...but seriously, most of the "palace community" use either p32 client software or Phalanx. P32 however, hasn't been updated since 1998 and has basically become badly outdated and nonfunctional with the OddZone palace. Therefore, we would recommend upgrading to Phalanx. While it isn't compatible with Macintosh computers (well...unless you have one of those that can run both Mac AND Windows) it compensates in that area with it's ease of use and it's use of the more global iptscrae language (a lot of technical talk). Although currently the only publicly available client is the stable version of an aging client, a Beta has been in the works and even tested by some of the OddZone staff. Hopefully all the bugs and kinks will be fixed and ready so that a public release can be made available soon. So for now, you can look into this more for yourself and find a download of the older stable client of Phalanx at the following website: http://www.bhlabs.com/phalanx.html Palace Chat

If you have any questions concerning any of this or how to visit the OddZone Palace itself, please visit our forums and ask any or all questions there!
